About Us

What is “Borg”?

The Borg Home was established in 1949 by the Icelandic Church Congregations to provide a home for those that could no longer care for themselves. Icelandic ChoirThe Icelandic meaning of “Borg” is “fortress” or “castle” which provides shelter and care for its people. Borg has continued to provide shelter and care for over 70 years.

Our 39-bed basic care home encourages and nurtures residents, family, and staff while enhancing the dignity and lifestyle of each individual.  We strive to be a leader in long-term care and to work with area agencies and organizations to ensure the needs of the residents are carefully met. Borg Home is located in Mountain, ND overlooking the beautiful Red River Valley.
